On-Line Squadding |
The On-Line squadding system is designed to provide match administrators with a system which will allow competitors to squad themselves, thus relieving match administration from this tedious, and complaint generating, process.
The USPSA Webmaster can set up an area for your match. You will be able to configure squad size; manage super squads; and enter competitors into the system.
Visit www.uspsa.org/squadding, select "Match Director's Area", your match and enter your match.
Your first task is to configure the match. When you enter "configure", you will be asked for the following information:
| Match Information | |
Starting Date : |
Match starting date |
Ending Date : |
Match ending date |
Self Serve starts : |
The system will not allow competitors to squad themselves prior to this date. Match Directors can set this date to the current date to allow immediate self-service squadding, or set a date in the future at which self service squadding is allowed. |
Self Serve ends : |
The system will not allow competitors to squad themselves after this date. Match Directors will generally want to set a cutoff date a few days before the start of the match so that they may print squadding reports from this system. |
Send email default : |
Sets the default value for the "send email" checkbox presented when adding competitors to the match. The default may be over-ridden when creating or updating a user's registration in the squadding system. |
Privacy Default: |
Sets the default value for the per-shooter "privacy flag". If the privacy flag is set, the competitor's name will not be publicly shown, but will be displayed as "COMP###", where ### is the EzWinScore competitor number you entered when registering the shooter. The default may be changed for an individual shooter when adding the competitor to the squadding system, and may be changed by the competitor using their password. If you enter a registration with the privacy flag, you must inform the competitor what their competitor number is so that they may squad themselves. |
Admin Password/ Verify Password : |
Used to change the administrative password for this match. If these are left blank, the password will not change. The password is not echoed, and the "double entry" is to avoid user-errors in setting the password. |
Info : |
Information displayed to the user when they enter squadding for this match. This may include HTML tags, but if you do this you need to be careful - unbalanced tags can result in a dis-functional page. |
Lost PW info : |
Instructions for cometitors on how to get a new password from you. Match directors need to set a policy so that competitors who have lost their password know the proper procedure to get it from you. |
Welcome : |
Text included the the email automatically sent when you enter or update a user in the system (if you have selected that option at entry time) |
Add Squad Groups Section |

Shoot date : |

Squad Title: (optional) |
This is an optional lablel on a squad which will be displayed as a title at the top of the squad listing. If you want to add a title location like "Super Squad", "Staff Only", "Sat AM/Sun AM", this is the place to do it. |
Show Title Only: |
If this box is checked, the Squad Title will be shown but the Shoot Time will not. This box may be be checked unless you have a non-blank Squad Title. You would check this box if the squad title conveyed information about the shoot time. |
Check to delete range : |
Used when deleting a number of squads. Caution: If you delete a squad after competitors have been placed into that squad (either by the match administrator or competitors on a self-serve basis), the competitors will be moved to "unsquadded." Please be very sure of what you are doing when deleting squads since this operation cannot be undone. |
Lock match : |
If the match is "LOCKED", competitors may not squad themselve |
Once you have your match set up, it's time to start registering competitors. Select the "SQUAD <matchname>" link from the match admin page, and you will prompted to enter new competitors.

You may export registrations from EzWinScore and import them into the on-line squadding system. Select the "on line squadding" tabe in the EzWinScore registration and use "Export Registrations" to generate a file that may be used to upload match registrations via the match administrator's page. When you upload registrations from EzWinScore, the competitor number, member number, and division is added to the match registration visible on-line, and the squad number is left un-set on the web. You may repeatedly upload match registrations from EzWinScore and only the changed reservations will alter the on-line squadding competitor list (squads selected by competitors will not be changed).
The match administrator's page allows you to generate a squadding transfer file that may be used to import squad assignments chosen on the web into EzWinScore. You should only do this after on-line squadding for the match is no longer available, or the match is set to "locked" so that the competitors cannot change their on-line squad info after you have imported it into EzWinScore for match use.
