SCSA Launches Classification System and New Website
On Thursday, December 27, 2012, Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) Executive Director Dave Thomas announced the launch of an extensive upgrade of the SCSA web site, found at www.steelchallenge.com.
“This new site is the culmination of a full year’s work following several years of planning,” said Thomas. We are thrilled with the new site which provides many new member and club services and a much enhanced personal experience for our members.”
Non-members will find a wealth of information including membership information, rules, match calendars and results, and links to the Scholastic Steel Challenge and Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championship.
Among other new services, the site launch provides a measuring stick for SCSA shooters by providing a classification system for the first time. According to Thomas, the system “offers an opportunity for members to chart their progress on a weekly basis.” The system is dynamic, updating with each new set of scores uploaded to the web site by affiliated SCSA clubs. “We have always wanted a way to provide competition among members of similar skill. USPSA has offered that service for many years, and now SCSA can as well.
USPSA/SCSA President Phil Strader said “We are very excited to see this new communication platform reach the public. We fully expect the new site to contribute greatly to SCSA’s continued growth and success.”
The site was designed by Jeff Hughes of Hughes Design, LLC (http://www.hdllc.com/index.html) with significant technical input from Robert Boudrie, a member of the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Board of Directors.
